At Reskillion Africa, our trainees don’t just complete a course — they start a new chapter. These stories capture the journeys of young Africans who turned knowledge into action, poverty into opportunity, and dreams into sustainable impact.

1. Brian – From Hustling to Solar Entrepreneur (Kisumu, Kenya)

Before: Brian, 23, spent his days doing odd jobs with no clear income. He had completed high school but had no technical skills.

After: After taking the Solar Panel Installation & Maintenance course at Reskillion Africa, Brian now installs home solar systems in rural Kisumu. He has partnered with a local hardware store and earns consistent income. Brian has even trained two other youth in his village.

2. Mercy – Growing Change from Her Backyard (Eldoret, Kenya)

Before: Mercy, a 26-year-old single mother, relied on casual jobs and struggled to feed her two children.

After: Through the Organic Farming & Composting course, she turned her small backyard into a productive organic vegetable garden. She now sells kale, tomatoes, and herbs at the local market and supplies a nearby hotel.

3. Hamza – Turning Waste into Worth (Nairobi, Kenya)

Before: Hamza, 20, lived in Eastlands with no access to college or vocational training. He saw piles of plastic waste but no opportunity.

After: After the Waste Management & Recycling course, Hamza created a neighborhood recycling club. They collect, sort, and resell plastic waste, earning weekly profits and cleaning the environment.

4. Achieng’ – Digital Advocate for Climate Action (Kisii, Kenya)

Before: Achieng’, 19, had basic smartphone skills but no access to professional opportunities.

After: With the Digital Skills for Green Jobs course, she learned to use productivity apps, write proposals, and share stories online. Today, she manages a climate awareness WhatsApp group with over 50 girls and has published blog posts on sustainable farming.

5. Suleiman – From Village Dropout to Greenhouse Builder (Garissa, Kenya)

Before: Suleiman dropped out of school at 16. With no job or skill, he was discouraged.

After: After joining our Greenhouse Construction & Management course, he built his first greenhouse using local materials. He now earns income building low-cost greenhouses for farmers in his region.
